Well what can I say - this place is fabulous - we were treated like a prince and princess from the moment we arrived. Imagine how you feel approaching a resort with everyone standing waving and waiting for your boat to bring you to shore! Cold towels and a beautiful drink to welcome you. The experience though begins well before this with a private transfer from the airport to the beach and then a launch out to the resort. All smooth and easy. As for the resort .... everyone is just so lovely - beautful people with gorgeous personalities and smiles. We loved our breakfasts each morning on a stunning balcony - plenty of options - we did try most of them. Dinner each night on the beach was magic - all choreographed so no two nights were the same - I am sure they even organised the stunning sunsets. All the staff were outstanding and Herwin especially was a delight - we spent seven nights here and were so relaxed and pampered. Loved every minute and can definitely recommend at stay here at this little slice of paradise.

We stayed at the Sea View Suite. The room and the view are the best I've ever been in. Service is exceptional, and they serve you like having a personal butler, except that there are a lot of them. Prices are comparable to what a luxury hotel anywhere would charge. We took the tricycle from the airport to the pick-up area, and it's a lot cheaper than the shuttle service to and from the airport. It's free for them to ferry you from the main town to the actual resort upon arrival and departure via their speed boat. But any additional ferries will be extra.
This is the most romantic getaway my wife and I have ever had by far. Two thumbs 👍 👍 up for Vellago Resort.
PS. Get ready to get wet getting in and out of the boat. We didn't mind. It was part of our adventure.

Wow! Amazing! We stayed here for 4 nights in the Deluxe Sea View Suite. It rained hard the first day, and it made everything so beautiful and vibrant that we hoped for rain everyday.
The Good:
0. The resort is located on one of the most beautiful beaches that El nido has to offer- Seven Commandos Beach.
1. The room details matched its pictures and description perfectly and is 5 feet from the ocean front.
2. The staff is amazing and pays close attention to every detail. They tend to your room nearly every time you're out and about.
3. They set up beautiful dinner tables every evening on the beach complementary which is a novelty that would normally cost you an arm and a leg at any other resort.
4. They serve you a beautiful complementary breakfast on your patio every morning. (Beautiful but disappointing, continue reading)
The Bad:
0. The food is overpriced and truly awful. You'll read it on nearly every review and our visit was no exception. The french toast was literally toast served with syrup. It was by far the biggest disappointment of our stay.
1. The drinks are overpriced and either made incorrectly or they're using such cheap labels for their spirits that you cannot even recognize the flavor.
3. Everything is overpriced. We're from Hawaii which is one of the most expensive states to eat and drink out in the U.S. and eating/drinking at this resort will cost you the same as the resorts in Hawaii which was very confusing for us especially since the food and drinks were consistently terrible.
4. The only access to the resort is by a 5 minute boat ride which is amazing, however, they were not very transparent about being charged 1600P (roughly $35 USD) each time you need to leave the beach/resort. This charge is so outrageously expensive for the Philippines since a 2 hour taxi ride will only cost you 1000P. Refuse to pay and you'll be trapped on a small beach with barely edible food. This was very distasteful for us and we genuinely felt like we were being extorted for money. It is cleary a tactic that encourages people to settle for their overpriced menu.
5. It rained heavy and the ceiling right above our bed leaked on us while we slept during the last night. It was pretty minor because we simply put the trash between us on the bed to catch the droplets and the phenomenon was more so to do with the weather rather than the management. Again, we hoped for rain and we got some even while we slept (:
All-in-all it was an amazing resort and was a near perfect experience for us. If money is no object then I strongly recommend staying here. Otherwise, if you opted for a vacation to the Philippines to save a few pennies then I strongly discourage you from staying here.

This was an incredible experience! We did the romantic dinner at sunset package and my husband and I were speechless. The service (especially Gigi) was perfect. They made us feel so special and like we were the only people in the world. We have never felt so grateful in our lives. Anyone looking for a romantic night, I would 1000% recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Vellago Resort, and it undeniably stands out as one of the most beautiful places I’ve experienced. The intimate setting, with only six rooms, creates a charming and exclusive atmosphere that I thoroughly enjoyed. The customer service was impeccable, adding a personal touch to the overall experience.
However, for the significant amount we paid for our stay, I couldn’t help but wish for better air conditioning. The rooms tended to feel like a sauna, which affected our comfort. Additionally, there was a noticeable presence of tiny beach bugs in the rooms that, while not a deal-breaker, did detract a bit from the otherwise pristine surroundings.
While the food was satisfactory, it didn’t quite match the level of excellence found in other aspects of the resort. Despite these minor hiccups, the Vellago Resort remains a stunning retreat, offering a unique and intimate getaway for those seeking a beautiful escape.
