We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed our time at the hotel. The thoughtful touches in the room each day were lovely, and the service throughout our stay was consistently warm and attentive. It really made for a relaxing and pleasant experience. Special thanks to Drei, who welcomed us so kindly and was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay — always helpful and full of positive energy. However, we were a bit disappointed with the private tours organized through the agency recommended by the hotel. The service provided did not quite meet our expectations, especially compared to the overall quality of the hotel experience

Loved the stay at The Funny Lion! Reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming (shoutout to Val and CJay as well as the others) who remembered guest names and greeted everyone. Rooms were well appointed with comfy beds. Although the hotel isn't beachfront, they run a daily boat trip for guests to Papaya beach which is semi private and provides a nice change from the crowded boat tours. The buffet breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice as well as great happy hour drinks. Nice size pool too but it could get a bit packed with kids at times. El Nido town is quite noisy but the hotel provides earplugs (I'd advise requesting a room away from the road). I also recommend their spa across the street for a great massage! The only improvement was that it could have been made clearer on the excursion to Papaya beach that you need to pay the 600 PHP eco tax or bring the receipt if you already paid it. Most of us were't aware and some even ended up paying twice as they didn't know to bring the receipt. Maybe the rooftop could be better used. Perhaps create a chillout area as an alternative to the pool?

What an amazing stay! Every single staff member was an absolute pleasure, full of smiles and always willing to make sure we had the best and most comfortable time. From the moment you arrive until the second you leave, you feel at home. Service was the best you could ask for. The food - breakfast, lunch and dinner was awesome; they have a talented kitchen! We will definitely be back to stay here. Thank you for everything Funny Lion!

Amazing staff, great location, the hotel restaurant is good. Better than most places in El Nido. Breakfast is very minimal. The highlight which makes this place the best in El Nido is their private beach which is a short boat ride away. It’s the most amazing beach you’ll ever see!!! A few things to improve: very uncomfortable pillows, the smell of burning trash at the back of the hotel was awful and came into our room.

Our stay was exceptional, staff is friendly and refers to you by name. Pick up and drop off at hotel was included and very convenient. Room was clean and spacious. Fresh fruit juice and water was replenished daily, and a small treat. Breakfast buffet had great options which changed daily. The hotel also offers free transport to Papaya beach, and you have to option to add on a picnic for a decent price. The hotel also was able to book us a last minute island hopping tour the night before we wanted to take it which was very convenient since we were able to plan it according to the weather. The dates we wanted to book were unavailable online, but we really wanted to stay here so we reached out to their email and was able to book directly through there on our preferred dates with the help of Val, which I’m very glad we did. Overall would definitely stay here again!
