It’s a modern hotel in the famous, bustling town of El Nido—the perfect base for island-hopping tours and vibrant nightlife. The hotel offers a great breakfast, extremely friendly staff, and enjoyable evening events, including a barbecue night with live music. A standout feature is the daily boat trip to Papaya Beach—highly recommended, as El Nido itself doesn’t have a proper beach. Downsides: The pool is more of a small plunge pool with cold water, and the gym is too small. Conclusion: One of the best hotels in El Nido, though a bit pricey.

Amid a two month backpacking trip we decided to treat ourselves for our anniversary and we’re so glad we chose The Funny Lion! The price is more premium compared to other accommodation in the area but it was totally worth it. The pool area is relaxing, having breakfast included was ideal and the private beach excursion made our day. The staff also went above and beyond - friendly, proactive and helpful. Would recommend and stay again!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at The Funny Lion Hotel and it was just as we remembered it being the first time- amazing! We had the pleasure of staying at The Funny Lion Hotel, and from start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. The staff were exceptional, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. A special shout-out to Val, Christian, Joseph, and Marvin for their outstanding service. Val's warm welcome set the tone for our stay, while Christian and Joseph made sure all our needs were met with a smile. Marvin's attention to detail truly made us feel like VIPs. To say the least, every single staff member was fantastic. Their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine care for us made all the difference. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the facilities are top-notch. We felt completely at home. We can’t recommend The Funny Lion Hotel enough—if you’re looking for a place with amazing service, incredible people, and a relaxing atmosphere, this is it! Thank you, everyone, for making our stay so special!

This is a high-end hotel well situated in El Nido. It’s just a little bit away from the town itself, so it is very quiet. The young staff are exceptionally friendly and polite, and make an effort to know your name. The rooms are clean and spacious and the bed is very comfortable. The included excursion to Papaya Beach is a wonderful thing. We were a little bit burnt out with island hopping, so this was a very nice alternative . Be sure to bring food. The hotel restaurant serves excellent food. Overall, we were very impressed and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Wow! What a wonderful place to stay! The staff is amazing! I’m so happy with my vacation in El Nido and the staff made it even more wonderful! Always smiling, called us by name, provided extraordinary service and always made us feel completely at ease! I have stayed at many hotels and I must say this one is the best service I’ve ever experienced! They accommodated requests, allowed an extended check out, cleaned our rooms daily, and every time we passed by the front desk we were greeted with smiles! The best part is at the very end when you leave the hotel. I won’t spoil the fun so I’ll leave it at that. Thank you The Funny Lion, I won’t forget you!
