My husband and I spent the last week of our honeymoon in Miniloc. Before arriving I was afraid it would be too many days to spend in a remote island in the Philippines but honestly, we could've easily stayed 10 more days. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming, I'd like to specially mention the "sea team" who were very friendly and informative and also Dave and Thomas from the bar who were super attentive during our stay. We chose the Miniloc resort for the complimentary activities which did not disappoint. We did them all and really enjoyed our time visiting the islands and lagoons nearby. Snorkelling in the hotel reef was a truly fantastic experience. Our flight from Manila was delayed and the transfer boat waited for our arrival to take us to the hotel which we extremely appreciate. Overall, this is a hotel that really offers a unique experience and we recommend it to anyone who's considering this place to spend their honeymoon. PS: Don't forget to pack a pair of aqua shoes!
Would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay in the El Nido area. I would certainly stay here again and would consider their other resorts. The location is stunning. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, warm, welcoming, and professional. They went above and beyond and had a great eye for detail and anticipation of our needs to ensure we had a great stay. The complimentary activities were great and showcased the beauty of the area. We did the secret excursion and small lagoon excursions. The facilities and grounds were very nice and we were impressed with how nice the gym was for being a small resort. We stayed in the water cottage which was clean and up to date. Not a huge room but very nice with a beautiful porch to sit on and take in the views. The food was not amazing but was certainly not bad. We found at least a few things at each meal that were very tasty. I would recommend when booking your departing flight to schedule later in the day and check with the resort on when your transfer would be. The resort has several set transfers. For our 11:55 am flight, we would have departed the resort at 6 am. Which means sitting at the tiny airport or ferry lounge for quite awhile. Luckily we were able to work out a later departure. Overall very, very impressed with the resort and had a wonderful stay.
It' really the service that makes for a great experience. And we felt well cared for by our guides, Weng and Tan. Our room, while adequate, felt a bit cramped for 3 people. But the regular cleaning (at least twice a day) was really impressive. Having 3 people in the room makes a bit more mess than 2, so the frequent cleaning was greatly appreciated. The food was good, but not of the same quality and quantity as when we visited about 8 or 9 years ago. Certainly an opportunity for improvement. The included activities are also less than before although we did enjoy the mini tours. Again, the efforts of our guides made extra those experiences as enjoyable as possible. And I was able to do a bit of snorkling and was very very happy with what I saw. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner.
Awesome location, extremely helpful, welcoming, & friendly staff, great activities, great room, and awesome food! Also, it is a very relaxing environment with a great pool and great Wifi! Would definitely consider coming back in the future and highly recommend!
If I could give Miniloc Island Resort 10 stars or more, I would. My family has stayed in Miniloc three times within a few years, and each visit has been exemplary. Our recent stay in November 2024 was a bit different since we bought out the entire resort for our daughter’s wedding for 3 nights. The staff were not only courteous, but they were always happy and willing to serve. They went far beyond what was expected, ensuring that we were all pampered and wanted for nothing. They were attentive even when guests were up late doing karaoke or whatnot. One of the rollers on our luggage broke, and one of the staff welded it! We were offered the conference room to work on our wedding giveaways, and Ali, the resort coordinator, together with four housekeeping staff, helped put everything together. The scuba diving, kayaking, and snorkeling were amazing! The guides made sure that everyone felt safe and well taken care of. Chef Ronnie outdid himself, offering a wide variety of food for four days, which was all delicious. He even accommodated special requests. The kitchen staff and waiters were attentive. The menus we picked for the three-night event were exquisitely and meticulously presented. The lights, decorations, and table settings for the beach wedding were so beautiful! I know that we didn’t exactly choose easy designs, so a special thank you for all the extra efforts! During the reception, it briefly rained, and the staff were quick in distributing their El Nido green umbrellas, which kept everyone dancing—something that the guests astonishingly enjoyed and still talk about! The dancing was moved to the clubhouse with efficiency. Thank you, Maan and Ali, for coordinating the event and for your special attention to detail. I cannot thank the staff enough for their outstanding service. They truly personify what is deeply ingrained in the Filipino culture: hospitality, warmth, generosity, hard work, and treating others with kindness and respect. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
