The Miniloc resort has very high reviews for a reason. They put a lot of effort into making the resort a place you do not want to leave!
The food was very tasty and changed for every meal. The staff went to extra effort to make the place clean and free of litter. We did a variety of activities every day. The staff for all of the activities were very attentive to help you enjoy the experience.
On top of all the work the staff do to make it an enjoyable experience, there is a reef just past the rock barrier that offers some of the best snorkeling I've ever had. And it is just at the foot of the steps of the pier!!

My wife and I had exceptionally high expectations for our El Nido visit after exploring all over the Philippines for a number of years but sadly El Nido Miniloc didn’t quite live up to the billing.
Just for clarity we paid 129,999 pesos (2,200USD) for 4 nights in their garden cottage - the most basic room. Room 8. This is positioned right next to the employee’s area so noise was a consistent throughout the day.
Pros
-Clearly it’s a beautiful place
-Staff were mostly delightful , interested to ask about you and make conversation.
Cons
-Building work on room 26 whilst installing a new roof meant constant banging.
-Music being played at 6:40am - Foreigner
-Multiple transfers to different boats got a little tedious
-No coffees other than brewed included at breakfast
- we didn’t participate in the all inclusive (3,800 pesos per person per day (65USD) but there was no Pale Pilsen or pineapple juice available
-During one excursion during wet weather a boat (not hotel guests) was noticed capsizing but despite urges to help from the guests, the captain and staff did not offer to help.
- Room 8 was ‘tired’ with peeling paint , dripping AC which at one point almost dripped onto my laptop - this was fixed straight away.
-in other top resorts in Philippines there are plenty of ‘extras’ - fruit, ice cold towels, cold drinks, water around pool - none of this happened during our stay.
For the money we spent I am disappointed and would have hoped for much much more.

The Best Hotel We’ve Ever Stayed At - Miniloc Island Resort, Philippines
Our stay at Miniloc Island Resort was nothing short of spectacular. This is, without a doubt, the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warm hospitality, world-class service, and breathtaking surroundings.
Food: A Culinary Delight
The food was truly first-rate. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, but the à la carte menu was what truly stood out—each dish was a culinary masterpiece. We spent hours savoring every meal because everything served was exceptional. The attention to detail and flavor was simply extraordinary.
Activities and Experiences
One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible range of complimentary activities. Snorkeling in the resort’s own coral reef, home to turtles, was a dream come true for any snorkeling enthusiast. The experience was serene and hassle-free, something that would be hard to match elsewhere. Plus, being just five minutes away from all the main activities was so convenient—unlike staying in El Nido town, where you'd have to endure a 45-minute boat ride.
Unmatched Service and Personal Touches
A special shoutout to the entire staff, who went above and beyond to make our stay the best of our lives. We have never been treated so well at any other hotel. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care were unparalleled.
A Dream Ending
To wrap up our incredible journey, we treated ourselves to a massage, and it was the perfect way to end our stay. Relaxing and rejuvenating, it was honestly one of the best massages we’ve ever had.
Luxurious Accommodation and Views
We stayed in a Water Cottage, and waking up to the sight of the ocean every morning was priceless. The views from the pool were equally stunning, making it the perfect spot to relax. The resort also offered additional amenities like a happy hour, ping pong, and billiards, adding even more to our unforgettable stay.
Convenience and Exclusivity
Another great feature of this resort is that it has its own VIP lounge at the airport, ensuring a comfortable and smooth arrival and departure.
We can't imagine visiting El Nido without staying at Miniloc Island Resort. The combination of luxury, convenience, and unbeatable service makes it a destination in itself.

We were so lucky to have found a paradise in Palawan, named Miniloc.
The journey from Manila, all the way to Miniloc was seamless. There is a special check-in counters at the airports (when you’re guests of the El Nido Resorts).
When we reached Lio Airport, we began to feel the warm welcome from the resort staffs. Location wise, Miniloc is an island paradise filled with unspoiled nature.
The hospitality shown by the staff was very good. Our room was cleaned thoroughly and everything was working well.
For the resort activities, we are so thankful and grateful for Andy, Mario and the excursion team who worked tirelessly to ensure the guests safety and enjoyment. They are the key personnels that made the entire experience so worthwhile!
Thank you, Miniloc Team and especially to Andy!

This is my long overdue review of Miniloc Island resort as our destination wedding venue.
First part of my review would be for the staff and employees of Miniloc Island and El Nido Resorts. Our contact all throughout the wedding preparations was Ms. Maan from the El Nido Resorts sales team. She did an incredible job assisting me the moment I first sent that email to inquire about their packages up to the day before our check-in date (as we were handed over to the hotel team leads upon check-in). She was very thorough in answering all my questions, provided me with suggestions which I found very helpful especially I was all doing the wedding planning outside of the Philippines. Special shoutout also to Ms. Hannah who served as our booking coordinator. She assisted our guests in booking their rooms, this has hugely helped me focus on other areas of the wedding planning as questions about the accommodation and how to book them were already handled by her. This also removed the need for me to monitor the RSVPs frequently as they already managed that for me. Huge thank you also to our hotel leads Ms. Leah and sir Roy and the hotel manager ms. Melissa for making all our guests’ stay in the island a memorable one. They were all very attentive to our guests and helped us in any way possible during our 3 day stay. A lot of our guests have commended how friendly and hospitable the staff were and we were especially delighted with the talents of the staff who were part of the welcome (and goodbye) band. Special mention also to sir James the chef. My husband was full of praise for him. Lastly, thank you to kuya Gold and other kuyas who served as our tour guides during the island hopping activities during our stay. They all made our wedding celebrations very memorable.
What can I say? Staying in Miniloc Island was truly like a fairytale dream for me. The room we were in was clean, comfortable and what is expected of a water villa. We had a nice view of the sea and the bed was comfortable. I liked how the design and interior of the room was very Filipino. Our guests have also commented that they had enjoyed their stay in the island and absolutely loved touring around El Nido! There are kayaks and snorkelling equipment which we were able to use during the island hopping activities before and after the wedding day. The pool and surrounding areas were kept clean. Can I just say our guests also loved the sunset cruise we had arranged with the resort on the first day.
Wedding day
The wedding day is indeed one of the happiest moments of my life. I was surrounded by family and friends in one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines. The ceremony and reception venue was in Big Lagoon beach club, a few minutes boat ride from Miniloc Island. Everything that I had envisioned during the planning stages was executed perfectly. They handled the venue styling, lights, sounds, flowers including bouquets and boutonnières, sand lanterns, food, cake, and drinks as part of their wedding package. I loved the ceremony and reception setups. The tropical theme of the styling complimented the natural beauty of the Big Lagoon beach club. I especially liked that the materials used were sourced locally. The dinner was also sumptuous, with all guests commenting how they loved the food and admired the entire setup of the event. We opted for canapés while we had our post-nuptial photos and buffet style for dinner. The midnight snacks served when we came back to Miniloc after the wedding celebrations were also delicious! Can I just add the sisig was divine!
I just love how the staff of Miniloc Island handled our wedding, from the setup of the venues, styling, food, drinks, assisting our guests all throughout and even ferrying us from Miniloc to Big Lagoon beach and vice versa. It was truly a day to remember. I would highly recommend booking them for destination wedding!
Again thank you to everyone at El Nido Resorts/Miniloc Island!
