Summary: Awesome staff, great AC and clean rooms, but a bad place to lounge.
The staff was super helpful. All tours can be booked at no extra cost from the reception desk. They picked me up from the airport and dropped me off which was so nice. + they gave free vouchers for a beautiful coffee shop downtown. The room is clean, but small. I was in the bunk bed room with no windows. It's like a clean cave because it's dark and also has no chair to sit. I slept great here because it was quiet and cool. The bathroom/shower is clean and works well.
The only two problems with this place is that 1. there is no place to lounge and 2 it's a bit far from the beach. I came on bad weather days which meant no tours were happening. There is no lounge area in this entire hotel. There are two love seats by reception, but that's it. They haven't developed the roof yet, but they plan to serve breakfast there one day. There was no chair in the room so I literally had to lay on my bed or go somewhere else. I ended up in lots of cafes / restaurants those days. The other problem is that it's about a 9 minute walk from the beach. You can hire a tricycle driver for 100 PHP, but it's a bit annoying to get there. There are a couple of cheap restaurants just next door, but most of them are in the downtown area.
In summary, this is a great hotel if you are only going to use it for sleeping. (That was my plan until the weather was terrible)

Stayed in the rooms with the bunk beds! Great value for those rooms and it was fairly comfortable for 2 people. 4 stars for the rooms only because it’d get fairly humid even with the AC on. Clothes hanging on the rack in our rooms would appear even wetter than when they first started. But otherwise, loved the space!
Staff at the concierge were very helpful in finding us our tours and were able to advise local shops (especially for laundry and other niche requests).

We stayed at J Boutique Hotel for almost a week, and our experience was perfect. The room was well-equipped with good air conditioning, a shower with a steamer, and a TV with its own Netflix account. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, especially the security guard, who was always alert even when we returned late from the club. They consistently checked if we needed our room cleaned and replaced the towels every time. We also booked an island tour through the hotel, and they organized everything seamlessly with their agency. A wonderful bonus was the complimentary private van service to the airport. Additionally, the prices are very affordable—you can sleep comfortably at J Boutique just as you would in a 3 or 4-star hotel, without paying much extra. We highly recommend J Boutique Hotel as your temporary home while enjoying your vacation in El Nido and look forward to staying here again soon.

Would stay here again if we happen to visit El Nido. Rooms were kept clean, AC was cold, and bathroom was spacious. Staff was exceptional and friendly, especially the lady who assisted us in our check in and out process. I forgot to grab her name but she was attentive and welcoming! Perfect location too! 🤗👌🏼

No possibility of breakfast, no swimming pool but if you need a very well located place to stay in el nido for a reasonable price, j boutique is a perfect option. Rooms were impeccable. And they have very convenient 5-bed room for family like ours.
